While working on a new website I noticed a big increase in Googlebot activity and at the same time, an increase in traffic too.
I’ve not noticed whether there is a correlation between Googlebot activity and traffic but I imagine if a website gets more traffic this is a signal to Google to re-index more frequently?
To be honest, I don’t really pay too much attention to Googlebot activity, usually a quick glance to make sure Google is downloading everything OK is enough.
Anyone else seen this kind of thing happen before?
